| Dimensions | I bought this scope as a throw-away… Just to see if I like the style of scope before I bought a “real” one. I have no plans to buy the “real” one now! I’m seriously impressed! I have scopes from Leopold, Redfield and Nikon of other guns I own, so I know what real quality is, and didn’t have high expectations for this one. Didn’t really have ANY expectations, to be honest! I just wanted to see if I liked this style without spending a fortune. I mounted the scope on my AR, and was nearly zero’ed out of the box, which is pure luck, but I have not TOUCHED the adjustment since! Several hundred rounds since, and it’s just perfect. If it was mounted on a shotgun, firing slugs or some rifle with heavier recoil, maybe it wouldn’t hold it’s zero so well, but on a .223/5.56, it’s more than I hoped for at this price. The illuminated reticle draws very little power. Accidentally leaving it on overnight is not a death sentence to the battery. I’ve done that and had the battery still last quite a while. The scope is perfectly usable as a “regular” non-lighted scope with the light off, so losing a battery or other light/electrical failure doesn’t mean you have no aimpoint. Takes fairly common CR2032 button batteries that are easy to change, they are inside the big top knob that adjusts the color and brightness of the reticle. The top of the knob screws out and the battery lays beneath it, right on top. If I had to make one negative comment… I would like it if the backup sights on the top of the scope were removable. I’d rather use a different style of backup sight, and they are pretty big in relationship to a pretty small optic. They really make the scope have a much higher profile, all for just a backup sight with a VERY short sight radius. I’m going to buy another one, no doubt about it! |

| Color | First of all this is very heavy not as light as the higher end sights but thats not my biggest qualm. The cross hairs are sagging so bad I thought it was broken out of the box. Placed on a level bench and WOW…. So I took it off the pic mount and tried to adjust….well you can’t there was so much adhesive between the two I’d be embarrassed selling this! Hard to get a photo of this but I did show that the rail is not even drawing tight so there is no way in h.e. double hockey sticks this would be accurate in the field. It’s Chinese go figure…. sending back after I hit send. |
| Material | My first impression of this scope was how aesthetically pleasing it looked on my Smith and Wesson Sport II (5.56/ .223). It only took me about 20 rounds to get it zeroed, at which point I had no problem maintaining a tight 1 inch shot group at about 100 yards. I fired it as far as 300 yards, In which I maintained a close 2 inch grouping (I blame this on my rifling and because I switched rounds at this point, going from a 62 grain to a 55 grain due to availability at the range).Standard Elevation and windage knobs are included, very easy to use.The scope itself provides two rails for mounting any additional accessories, one on either side.One of the many neat features on this scope is the Iron/Fiber sights provided. These sights rest above the scope, but after some getting use to, I was able to zero at 25 yard targets and hit some as far as 75 yards. This little feature raised many eyebrows on the range, very happy with this addition. (My only problem with the Iron/fiber sights is that they were initially not centered, but I used the Allen Wrench provided to manipulate the Ring holding the Rear sights to mechanically zero and level it off. I blame this on my mail carrier as I witnessed him drop my package off in a very rough manner).Eye relief on this scope was about 3.5 to 4 inches, enough to clear me from any dangers from the charging handle. It has 3 different colors available (Red, Green, Blue) with each color having three different points of brightness. The best part? It only illuminates the center of the reticle, removing any possible visual disturbances usually caused by other scopes. Also, the black reticle can be viewed without a battery, as no illumination is needed for this function.Pros:Holds zero, even after rapid fire.Actual elevation/windage knobs,Eye relief better than most,Iron/fiber sights provided,Red/Green/Blue reticle illumination, good for any situation with poor lighting,Standard reticle can be used without illumination/battery,2X side rails on scope for attachment of accessories,Impressive, aesthetically pleasing, fast shipping!Comparable to military ACOG scopes,Cons:Iron/Fiber sight not leveled, but easy to fix with provided tools.I spent about 300 rounds in all at the range, at which this scope maintained it’s zero throughout the whole torture test. My final analysis, this is definitely the best bargain scope out there for this price.I am a active duty service member, and I appreciate the craftsmanship that was employed to create this scope. Hands down, the best scope I have yet to place on my rifle…. And I usually prefer Iron sights due to accuracy!! Fine addition to my collection. Will definitely purchase a second pair in the near future. |

It stays in place even after a few hundred rounds are cycled.The downside, at least in my case, is that the crosshairs and reticle adjust with the focus ring. So when the target is clear, everything else is blurred and out of focus. I believe this may be a design flaw in this updated version. The whole reason I ordered this particular optic is because a friend of mine has the same one and it did well enough for range use. His has lighted crosshairs instead of the center reticle. Idk. I understand this is a budget optic, but it’s more a design issue. Not necessarily a quality issue. |
