| Dimensions | I purchased this scope as a replacement for a cheap-o red dot I had on my AR that I couldn’t seem to get on target. This scope right out of the box is beautiful. Once mounted and peering through the glass my first impressions on the retical were everything I wanted in a scope. The etched glass is a bonus and with the illumination On it is not over powering while looking through. The illumination only illuminates the retical. The eye relief is amazing, about 3-3.5” and crystal clear. I am zero’d I’m at 50 yards and have a great grouping.After purchasing this scope through amazon I received an email from Monstrum saying if I have any issues to let them know and they will take care of them. They reached out to me. This is exactly what we want when making a purchase, a purchase that could be life saving. I was very pleased when I saw the email come through. | Model Number | Currently sitting on my ruger scout chambered in 5.56I’ve had this scope for a while and fired over 1000rnds with it, so I’m gonna try to write a good comprehensive review on it.Pros :Great for the priceFunctionality is phenomenal and easy to useComes with lens protectorsThe red/green illumination for the reticle is clear and also easy to useReally easy to zero with very sturdy and responsive windage/ elevation knobs.Cons:The scope mounts it came with are sturdy thus far but do feel a bit cheap but will do the job until its type to upgrade. They’re also really bulky and tall so they wont do good on a scout or battle rifle platformit’s a little hard to get a good eye relief.The green/red light switch is super stiff and hard to turn on and off, it also houses the battery compartment so it’s very common to turn the reticle light while also unscrewing the batter protector.All in all, it’s a good scope, definitely great for beginners/intermediate shooters using an AR platform on a small/medium caliber. I would probably hunt with it and obviously take it to the range but I wouldnt trust my life with it. I also wouldn’t recommend using it on anything bigger than .223/5.56 including magnum calibers. I could see the recoil completely throwing off the zero. I wouldnt compare it to a leaupold or a Nikon but definitely one of the best cheap alternatives out there. |
| Color | Just received the replacement scope and it functions correctly. Thanks to Amazon, the return and replacement went without a problem. The parallax adjustment on this scope still doesn’t have a good feel like the eyepiece does, but at least it functions and is easy enough to turn. Still cut 1 star because of inaccuracies in the printed manual. How long can it take to reprint a 2 page document plus 3 pictures?2 stars for the first one because it arrived with a parallax adjuster that stops about half way through the travel. The machined groove that the AO ring follows has a major lump or burr about mid travel that prevents it from moving through its intended adjustment range. The scope was NOT FUNCTIONING and could not be used in this condition.Now for the other issues, most relate to the changes or improvements that occurred since the manual was printed in 2017. Has a CR1632 battery (not 2032). Battery compartment (and illumination control) is no longer located opposite the windage turret. It has 1/2 MOA adjustments NOT 1/4 as stated in manual. The turrets are NOT locking and can be adjusted without pulling them up first. The included rings may fit the scope, but are of cheap quality and standard Burris rings with the wonderful plastic bushing inserts will not fit the slightly oversized 1.008″ tube diameter. The rings are on all of my other 1″ scopes and fit perfectly. The force that would be needed to get the premium rings closed enough just to start the screws would likely damage the erector tube. The supplied rings will certainly mark the scope as they are not very round or precise. The nice reticle doesn’t exactly match the one in the owners manual which means that you have no idea what the subtensions really represent.I realize that this is an economy scope with a price of under 100 dollars. I own scopes from around 50 dollars to over 4000. The manual seriously needs to be reprinted and some of the advertising here needs to be properly updated for the product changes over the years. There is no excuse for incorrect information being in the description. |

Put 180 rounds down range, initial zero at 25 yards 9 shots 2 adjustments, moved out to 100 yards 9 more shots & 2 more adjustments put me on center of 12″ steel plate with 1 1/2″ groups. Glass was clear & bright considering heavy overcast, all adjustment mechanisms seemed to be just right (not too stiff). Scope maintained zero to the last round. Having always shot red dots & iron sights I was impressed with the ease of zeroing & shooting, it almost felt like I was cheating somehow. My son shot a couple of magazines & commented on how bright the glass was for a 32 mm optic.
