| Dimensions | Buyer beware!!!!!!It started out fine at first, 100 rounds later it would not track back to 0. It was constantly 2-4 moa off, the scope caps where cheep and broke within the first week, the honeycomb cover was dented and made the field of view foggy. I called monstrum to let them know of my issues, they acted like there products would never fail and that it was the shooter vs. there product. They told me they would send another one for a replacement and that they would verify it tracking back to 0. Once I received the replacement it had a large gash on the side of the tube and the honeycomb was dented again. I took it to a PRS match the following weekend and it worked sub par but I had less moa this go round than last. They claim “capable of precision mid to long range target at distances of up to 1000+ yards” both scopes would not allow you to dial for 800 yards with a 6.5 creed. I called and talked to them again to let them know I wanted my money back and told them the flaws and they began to argue with me and questioned my knowledge of guns and began to tell me that there isn’t a scope on the planet that had over 80 moa of elevation. Well for one my nightforce has 110 of upward elevation and my 6.5 only needs 36moa for 1000yards.So needless to say if you want to deal with a P.O.S company and products there the place to go. |

With all the positive reviews, I thought I’d give it a shot. I have the 6-24×50 G2 scope mounted on medium height Weaver tactical rings on my Savage 10T rifle. Did not realize the Monstrum scope came with rings already. I was able to punch holes close to center after a couple of rounds. Forgot to take the hex key to unlock the turret so I couldn’t turn the windage as far as I wanted to but it locked up right close to zero. Love that you can rezero your turret after you sight it in. Went through 30 rounds and I was still getting very good 3 shot groups with Remington ammo @ 100 yards with 6x and 24x. A bit fuzzy at 24x but if you let your eyes focus, it’ll clear up a bit. Having not been shooting for over 6+ years, this scope made me get back into a bit of shooting for a reasonable price. Highly Recommended!!!!! |
| Color | I purchased this (the Gen 2 version with shorter, red accented dials) in February of 2018. I have installed this on a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5mm Creedmoor. My first impressions are very high. I have taken my rifle to the range twice. I zeroed Hornady Match at 100m and maintained a .63in grouping. My second time I shot at 100m to confirm the zero (no change) and 300 and 600m. I shot the same Hornady ammo. What I really like about this is the price. First Focal Plane and 1/4MOA adjustments in a powerful 6-24x zoom range. You cannot beat $190(Black version at the time of purchase). Another thing that I like is my adjustments are accurate to 1/4MOA. The scope is not Super Bright like some vortex optics I own, but it is brighter than the Sig Sauer 6-24×50 Tango 4(a $1000 Scope I was looking at) The measurements and dope I have compiled from 2 range trips off of the retical are so far accurate. One thing I did not like was how tight the zoom ring is. It is VERY stiff out of the box. That is not a bad thing as it will likely loosen up over time, but mine was very tight out of the box. The other thing that I did not like personally was the illuminated reticle. The on/off switch on the left turret is okay, but maybe if it adjusted the brightness it would be better. It may, but I haven’t figured it out or used the red or green sights at all. I have only turned them on and switched them from red to green a few times. I did purchase a generic 50mm shade that I hoped would fit. While the included diffuser fits like a glove, I really wanted another 2 inch extension. the generic 50mm tube was about 1-2mm to big in diameter. It would be nice if Monstrum offered one specifically for their scopes. |
| Material | I recently started competing in the NRL22 arena. I had a nikon scope on my rifle, but the minimum parallax was 50 yards. I looked for an inexpensive scope with a shorter focal distance and I wanted FFP so I could use the reticle rather than adjust the elevation. (NRL22 targets are anywhere from 35 yards to 100 and speed counts). For < 200.00, I thought this was worth a try.Pros:Scope is pretty clear, not a nightforce or a nikon by any means, but for the price I can't complain. At higher magnifications, there is a bit of blurriness around the edges but not noticable unless you look for it.Reticle is accurate and consistent at different magnifications.Zeroed at 50 yards and shot a couple of times over a 2 week period, and the scope retained zero. Cranked it up 17 minutes and went out to 200 yards with a 5" group (with a 22lr). Dialed back to zero and it was still dead on at 50. So I'm happy with the consistency and accuracy of the elevation / windage.Cons:Not a big deal because I don't use the illumination, but it's a feature.. just not a very good one. It's very difficult to get the green light on, and trying to adjust the brightness almost invariably turns it back to red. It often takes many presses to get the brightness to change even on red and sometimes it just turns off the lighting completely. The supplied battery was D.O.A and I had to replace it. I'm not impressed with the illumination at all, so I took off one star. |
