| Dimensions | There are two versions of this tactical scope on Amazon (and eBay). I compared them side-by-side. They appear identical, but one version (mine was labeled M3ATY) has a SHORT ocular tail piece and the eye relief is only 1″ to 1-1/2″. In other words, you must have your sighting eye within that distance of the tail piece to see a full image.The other version ($5 to $10 more expensive, mine says “CVLife”) has a LONGER ocular tail piece, and the eye relief is 4″ to 4-1/2″ (normal for any scope).The short one is impossible to use as a “tactical” scope – it’s more like a pirate’s telescope where you have to put it right up to your eye (Arrrrr).Please see the attached photo for the difference. |
| Model Number | I am a relatively new gun owner, however I learned everything I know about guns and scopes in the military. I served for 6 years and deployed 3 times with the same unit to Iraq. I had many different armorers that would teach me little things here and there.What I can say is that this scope has performed better than expected, I zeroed it in at 75ft in under 6 rounds. The adjustment dials were reverse what they indicated, the scope adjusted down when I was clicking up. It has great clarity and held zero after 60 rounds of 55 grain range ammunition 5.56.Taking it out to a private range on families property to see how well the zero reaches out to about 100yards. If it stays true after a couple hundred rounds of cheap WPA Polyformance ammo and some movement drills.I am giving it a 5 star rating because at the price and quality of this product I have recommended it to friends, and a bunch of guys at the range were impressed by it before I told them I paid $50 for it on Amazon.Also the eye relief on this scope is solid at around 1.5-2.5″ |
| Color | I just bought my first rifle, a Ruger 556. I wanted a magnified sight to compare to a simple red dot sight to see which type of optic I liked the most. This one is definitely my favorite!First of all, this is a gorgeous looking optic. I bought it with the expectation of buying an expensive high-end sight after practicing with this. When at the 25 yard indoor range, it definitely caught some eyes.After shooting a good 90+ rounds with the iron sights, and a fatigued left arm (again, a new shooter, especially with a rifle), I put my target out at 25 yards, and literally hand screwed this onto my rail out of the box with no corrections. I sent 30 rounds down range with the blue reticle, and all 30 hit the target in a +/- 6” grouping, slightly skewed to the right. After adjusting the windage accordingly, I was hitting a gorgeous and consistent grouping in the center of the target, no elevation adjustment needed.The range’s safety officer said that the fiber optic/iron sight on top of the scope was trash, and I agree. Maybe only useful if you’re in a self defense scenario at close range. However, he said that it was the best $60 optic he’s seen! While I can’t comment on how well the optic holds its zero, I can say that it’s definitely a higher quality optic than some of the others I’ve used. All metal, perfect brightness, and great accuracy out of the box.If you need something to try out before making an expensive optic purchase (if you even need one, assuming you’re just a recreational shooter), get this! If you don’t like it, return it. But unless you get a dud, you’ll have no need to return it.If this could use any improvement, it would be removing the fiber optic part of the sight, as it’s kind of useless, and doesn’t add to the aesthetics. |
| Material | I have had this on my 223 rifle for awhile now. It is not a GREAT optic. Make a reality check and do not expect a HQ scope for $50 bucks. With that said…it works. Well the second one I got did anyway. I ordered a first one that I meant to return, that did not zero.Now I’m just keeping it perhaps for parts. The second one has exceeded any hopes and expectations for an optic at this price point. I zeroed it with a laser cartridge boresighter at about 15 yards, and then took it to a range for fine tuning….It’s hitting very accurate up to 100 yards. I have left it on, it’s been jostled, and hit and to my surprise took it to the range and it was still accurate. So for 50 Bucks it’s a darn good scope. I good starter while you save for that better optic, but make no mistake this is not even a medium quality optic. Poor eye relief. I have serious doubts on how it will behave after a few hundred more rounds are shot. Still for the price point it’s pretty nice. Oh do not bother with the back up iron sites on top they are horrible, and mine were both crooked. My recommendation is for someone who wants an optic and is saving for something better but needs something for the meantime, and should it break, put it on the kids nerf gun. |

It came in a nice solid box with a tool to mount it and a cloth to clean the lenses.I mounted this scope and within 3 or 4 shots, the screws came loose from the rails on my rifle. I was able to tighten it back down and have not had it come loose since.Sighting in was simple to do, but remember to bring a small tip flathead screwdriver to adjust the sights. Getting the lense to focus was a little difficult but not terrible. The crosshairs are very easy to aim with no matter which of the 3 colors you choose to use.I am able to shoot consistently and accurately out to the 400 yard maximum at my range with this scope.I like this scope so much I bought one for me and one for a friend. For the money, you can’t buy something better. |
