| Dimensions | Ok so I just got the scope and did some preliminary viewing. I’ll update with a range test later but for now heres some first impressions:Pros:It gathers light well enough to be used during dusk hours.2-4x powers are excellent with tolerable eye box and roughly 4 inches of eye relief.The illumination is bright and clear.You can use the scope with both eyes open on 1x*Cons:The eyebox on 1x is atrocious. I mean you are either too close or too far from the scope; you will always have a black ring in the sight picture. There is no sweet spot, or if there is it is so slight as to be unattainable. The redeeming factor as noted above is that you can use the scope at 1x with both eyes open which helps make the black ring less bothersome.Interestingly, if you turn the scope around backwards and look through it from the small end it works extremely well as a 1x scope with true 1x power, and 12 inches plus eye relief!Also 1x power (from the correct end) is not true 1x. This is more pronounced with things that are very close. Further away the difference is minimal. It’s more like a 1.25-4x scope.Not sure if I will keep it or not, but it is definitely not a quality scope by any means. |

One lives on a Sig 522 .22LR and has no issues there. I decided to put the other to the test and installed it on a Zastava M77 .308 Win AK. The scope has maintained zero and has no issues handling the heavy recoil from .308 or the action of the AK bolt carrier, however due to the 3MOA dot I have not been able to shoot better than a 2.5-3″ group at 100yd, while this rifle will shoot close to 1 MOA with a typical fine crosshair scope. So do not expect extreme accuracy at longer ranges simply due to the size of the center dot.Pros:- Half the price of other budget 1-4x scopes from Primary Arms or Vortex, with comparable fit, finish, and functionality- Small and light – compared to my older Primary Arms 1-4x this scope is quite compact- Included mount is solid and compact- Glass is very clear with minimal distortion on 1x. Great picture and clarity on all higher power settings.- Illuminated reticle does not “bloom” and maintains its crispness on all illumination setttings- Reticle is crisp and and appears to be etched into glass, so no worry about it coming loose- Good low light and night visibility- Zoom adjustment is smoothCons:- Wish it were red only illumination. I don’t like fussing to avoid the green settings. Just my personal preference.- Is the giant “CR2032 + UP” etching on the battery cap necessary?- There appears to be a large leap in brightness from the 1 to 2 setting on red. |
| Color | I mounted this on a .308 rifle. I used Loc-tite on everything. I zeroed it and it held zero. The reticle is great! The tiny dot lets you see small distant targets. The bigger circle is great for CQB. The image is crisp and focused. I have a similar scope that cost four times as much, but this one is better.Addendum: This is the group I shot this morning with the Centerpoint 1-4 scope on my Steyr AUG. Top is at 100 meters and bottom is at 175 meters. The lens didn’t even fog up when I went from air conditioning into 100% humidity. |
| Material | I was able to hit bulls eye with this scope at 50 yards. I then shot 4 more shots and my group shifted . I was upset because the scope mounts rattled loose. I returned the scope like and idiot . I did more research and found I needed loctiteand ordered it again. If the mount wouldn’t have worked loose this scope was zeroed perfectly. I would recommend this scope to anyone with an ar15. You will only need to invest in a throw lever and loctite. I will go to the range with loctite on the mount this time and see how she holds up. The bug buster utg 3-9 was a good scope until the mounts worked loose as well. The only problem is the utg is a QD and would not secure firmly and loctite wouldn’t matter. I would choose this scope over all of them. I hope this helps anyone on the fence about this product. Sorry center point for sending a good scope back! |
