| Color | I really had high hopes for this, but I truly didn’t enjoy my experiences with it thus far.Pros: It actually is very clear during the daytime, and even LATE into the evenings. Sunset was 8:45, and I was still able to see clearly for another 30 minutes. So twilight hunting is a plus.Cons: Even sighting it in with a shooting rest, I couldn’t get it under 2 MOA. That was with 5 different types of ammo. Granted that’d still do the job on a coyote broadside as long as I put a well placed shot, but still, not consistent.The night vision was really bad. I thought I’d be able to scan a pasture, but that’s not really how this works. Even with adjusting the IR light, the only time I could see ANYTHING was when it was zoomed in. Getting the light in the right spot in order to actually see anything took forever, and even then there were lines across the screen. The green mode didn’t work well, couldn’t see anything but green. Could only see something in white/black mode. But even then, most of the time the screen was whited out, only becoming viewable when the IR illuminator was zoomed in to the max and placed in just the EXACT right spot.I had bought an after market IR illuminator for “further out detection”. Yea no, that didn’t work. It completely whited out the screen.I’ll play with it some more but I’m very disappointed. Maybe if you had an exact spot where you knew a coyote/hog/beaver was, then it’d work, but I was trying to scan a field and it was VERY hard to do. |
