Getting a bit and tap is nice, not getting the screws they are set for makes them almost useless as I have no screws to match up with their threading nor instructions on how to do it.That being said, if they did come, I’d be really happy as the scope mounts to the side and not on top which means you can still use the original iron sight. A bent handle on the bolt is needed but I found one that I didn’t have to weld, tap or bend myself for $120The scope itself has a smaller “window” of where you can get a good view of compared to modern scopes but I prefer that as shifting your head slightly doesn’t make the crosshair move in the sight so it’s a lot more forgiving to someone like me that is more used to iron sights than scopes. But then, the mosin nagant is a pretty forgiving rifle to begin with so this scope is a perfect match for it.Besides tapping, cutting the wood frame is needed for the plate.
