| Dimensions | OVERVIEWFINALLY—-I found a scope that holds up to the Hatsan MOD 125th vortex spring piston break barrel air rifle. I’ve put more than 1000 shots through it and it has stay zeroed through all of them. A lot of the air gun forms recommend the UTG by Leapers as a scope that can withstand the bi-directional recoil of and air rifle, especially the magnum types like the Hatsan 125th. Yes there are a lot of scopes out there than can handle the recoil of .308 rifle, but that recoil is only one way, air rifles have two recoils and that 2nd recoil wrecks most scopesI have been through the following optics with no real success:►Optima 4×32 (this scope came with the rifle)►CVLIFE 4×32 Tactical Rifle Scope Red & Green &Blue Illuminated Reticle Scope with Fiber Optic Sight►CVLIFE 2.5-10x40e Red & Green Illuminated Scope with 20mm Moun►Dagger Defense -Combat Vet Owned Company- 2X Magnified Red Dot Reflex Sight Optic Scope►Rifle Scope 1x30mm Red Dot Sight with 20mm/11mm Weaver Picatinny Mount RailsThere are three different hex wrenches / allen keys used (that come with the scope); one to attach the rings to the rail, one to tighten the scope rings to the scope and one to adjust the stop pin on the rear scope ring. The biggest of the allen keys is used to affix the scope rings to the rail ( it does a excellent job).Again, I bought this for a break barrel air gun, I not expecting to be able to hit targets 500 yards out, as a matter of fact you really looking about between 10 and may 75 yards for a gas piston air gun. If you are looking for something for a rifle, especially in the .22 LR to .223 calibers, there are probably better options out there for about the same price, but for a spring gas piston air rifle, this is has been the best one I’ve found. | Model Number | I had a UTG red dot for my AR15 which was OK, so took a plunge on this for my Benjamin Maximus air rifle.Packaging is great, they give you scope rings, flip lens covers and all the hex wrenches you need and even a spare screw in case you drop/loose/strip one, which no one else does.Out of the box I was really impressed by the brightness and clarity. Not quite as good as my Nikon, but the Nikon costs almost $200. Noticeably better than some Walther and other variable zoom $100 scopes.The rear focus ring is so-so, but works well enough. It changes the focus of the target image, but not the cross hairs which can be tricky at rat distances of 3-10 yards. Zero adjustment dials have a satisfying click and feel solid. Eye relief is good enough, great for price, not as good as my Vortex or expensive brands.I have only been shooting for 3 days, but it has held zero perfectly. PCP air rifles are probably the least harsh on scopes though, spring air rifles and firearms may perform differently.Overall I am amazed by the value for money. |
| Color | Turned my Gamo Varmit Air into a LASER BEAM!I bought a Gamo Varmit Air rifle; my groups were all over the place and could not hold zero. Read about this scope, and how its really good for springer air rifles. I took the stock gamo scope off, and put this on. INITIALLY, the UTG mount rings were too high on my Gamo Varmit, and wouldnt allow me to adjust the windage without maxing it out. So I put the stock gamo mount rings on with this scope and it did the trick. Was VERY impressed zeroing it in with the Crossman Premiere Hollow Point pellets….the groups were VERY tight, the optics are crystal clear, and the mil-dot system is awesome to have. I sighted it in at 25 yards, and shot 8 groups. All the groups were about a quarter or two big, not bad for 25 yards. I also took a test shot at 35 yards, and it hit dead center below the bullseye, so this mildot system will work great. So far I’m very happy with this scope, pleased to report the gamo rfile is awesome but stock gamo scope suck!Will update this post to report if it stays zero, but very very pleased. It is a NIGHT and DAY difference compared to the gamo scope. |
| Material | I’ve purchased several UTG items over the years, some work well and others do not; however, considering the price point they are worth a try. That’s what I had in mind when I purchased this scope to mount on a Benjamin Marauder PCP rifle. I didn’t want to spend a lot for a scope on a pellet rifle but I wanted a decent scope on it, so I gave this 4×32 Hunter a go. For the money and the price this is hard to beat; I won’t be taking any shots over 75 yards with it and this scope is just fine for that on the Marauder. It mounts solidly with the included rings, zero’s predictably, and so far is holding zero. Now the glass is a bit blurry on the edges, eye relief is a little tight, and the reticle lines are a little fat, but for a short range air gun this is not a problem. Would I mount it on a centerfire rifle? Absolutely not! I have several Vortex, Leupold, and Nikon scopes on my centerfire rifles and this scope doesn’t compare to them; but for use on the Marauder I am quite happy with it. |

The scope is clear with reticle dots with a nice crosshair. I mounted this to a Gamo air rifle with the provided mounts. It is stable and the eye relief works with the gun perfectly after moving it back and forth to find the sweet spot. It took me about 20 rounds to zero at 30 yards. Easy to adjust windage and elevation with thumb tabs. Im impressed considering it was only $40. I probably would not use on a high powered rifle. Also not waterproof so beware. I’m going to put one on my other air rifle now. |
