| Dimensions | I had hoped to mount this on a ar pistol but it didn’t happen. I tried it on a bolt action 22lr rifle first it took awhile to get it sighted in but once I did it held zero. Also the laser seemed to hold also. The glass was clear and the magnification was good. But after a 100 rounds of 22s being shot the o-ring popped off the front lens causing the lens to come loose. This would have never held up to a 556. The good news is amazon refunded my money back the same day when I shipped it back to them.Ok I’m updating my review now to 5 stars. The company sent me s new scope and I mounted it my ar 556. I have now ran 150 rounds of 233 and 556 and both the scope and laser are holding zero. I did have to put some blue loc-tite on the adjustment screws on the laser but it’s holding. The furtherest I’ve been able to test the scope has been 110 yards but that’s plenty far for me. I was able to see the laser out to about 45 yards on a cloudy day.The first scope I got was defective but the company sent me another one right away. | Model Number | I bought this scope to outfit a rifle for the purpose of transitioning from iron sights. This was just a test and if I liked it…I would spend the money for a quality replacement. Let me tell you…I couldn’t be happier with this scope, although time will make the final determination. The light-up reticle is awesome(although it came with a dead battery). The biggest surprise is the stupid red dot laser… I just can’t get enough of it. Other than the batteries and a problem with battery contact on the laser…(cut a piece of aluminum pan and inserted it, to tighten the battery contact) it works flawlessly. Easily sighted in. Holds zero. Lights up the reticle for my tired old eyes and even if the battery dies, the reticle is still clearly visible. Highly recommend. |
| Color | Why are people being hard on this scope? It’s a $50 scope, not a Vortex Viper! In this bracket, it’s a decent scope. It just depends on what your target application is. For most close-range applications, such as paper targets or for anything less than say, 100-ish yards, this is more than enough. On the other hand, if you’re a distance shooter, or you’re trying to break world records, you’re probably not going to be happy with this. But most people aren’t trying to break world records, or make 1000 yard shots regularly. Use the right tool for the job— it would be crazy to go for higher magnification if you’re a close range shooter.In fact, one review mentions that the scope is useless at 25 yards with full zoom……but who’s using high magnification for a close shot only yards away? That would be insane. Any scope at high magnification would have a narrow field of view and small exit pupil if you’re shooting at close distances, which means that you won’t have much latitude if you’re jiggling your head around (i.e. eye relief) –so don’t blame the scope. You can’t take close shots at high power.Personally, I appreciate the fact that they kept things relatively simple. Packing more bells and whistles in here is not going to make your bullets go farther. The more features they try to cram in, the more needlessly complicated a scope becomes. The mildot reticle is a little bit overkill though, because it clutters up the view.It *is* heavy, though. I weighed it at 1lb 3.3oz, so it’s not exactly lightweight. It just means that it’s a lot harder to shoot unsupported, at least for me. The other downside is that the power ring is REALLY stiff, and the movement isn’t that smooth—it takes a lot of force to turn the magnification up or down without halting, which could easily cause you to wobble off target, when you may not have extra seconds to spare. The last thing I want to be doing is fighting with a scope.I learned with iron sights, so any optical scope is a luxury—and I think people need to have reasonable expectations here. This scope only helps you see the target better….it’s not going to help you *shoot* better.(I’m not a great photographer, especially one-handed with my phone, so I could barely snap a few photos through the eyepiece, but I tried to capture a fire hydrant 100 yards away at 2.5X and 5X for reference, despite not meeting the eye relief.
