| Dimensions | Ok, first of all if your reading this you’re probably wondering how good a scope in the $80 to $100 range is, I know I was when I first saw this. The first thing I thought was how durable this scope would be and after somewhere around 60 rounds through my 308 savage 10 I haven’t had any problems. Nothing loose, nothing cracked and no change in my zero. I know 60 rounds isn’t enough to fully test this scope’s durability but it’s a good start considering my Savage’s history with demolishing glass. (I will give you an update after some more field use). I’m going to cover everything on the scope from front to back.Flip up scope cap – I was actually pretty surprised with the caps you get. They’re not butler creek quality but they’re not bad.Sunshade – not much to cover, it does what it’s supposed to do and comes with a thread cover for the cap to lock onto.Parallax – 10 to infinity. Turns easily enough and is accurate enough to roughly estimate ranges (give or take 10-15 yards) up to 150 yards.Scope rings – They are 4 screw rings (2 on each side) and appear to be good quality, very sturdy. They are pretty tall rings but for that 50mm objective they may not be tall enough to get proper clearance depending on your rifle. The only reason it fits on my rifle is because of my barrel contour. If you have a bull barrel or anything over a 308 you might need a shim or even taller rings.Windage and elevation knobs – These also appear to be good quality except there is some very slight slack in the clicks. The clicks themselves are decently positive and very audible. They are also ring-locking knobs, but you have to do some funky stuff to slip it back to zero when you sight it in (found in the manual).Reticle and IR – the reticle is a standard mil-dot reticle but very crisp. The reticle illumination has 3 colors and 3 brightness settings per color controller by the knob on the left side. Red, green, and blue but the blue is almost useless because of how dark blue light is but it’s cool that you get 3 to choose from anyways.Magnification – 4 to 16 power. The knob doesn’t turn as easily as one would hope but is very secure and has a little extended part that makes it easier to use with gloves on.Eye relief – Its decent. Somewhere around 2.5 inchesNow this is the part of the scope that I was most worried about. The clarity of the glass. When I first took it out of the box I was shocked with how clear the sight picture was probably due to the 50mm objective that lets a lot of light in. It’s even clear at max magnification (16x) which most cheaper scopes start to get hazy. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t as clear as high dollar glass but it’s still really good.The FOV is another major factor that I consider when buying a scope and this one may not be the best but it certainly isn’t bad.Overall I think this scope is loaded with features for the price and has very good clarity and seems to be good quality. If I had randomly used this glass without seeing the price tag I would have guessed somewhere around $150 to $200. On a side note I have to mention how this scope looks. I’ve always been a sucker for how my rifle looks and I have to say this scope looks pretty awesome on my rifle.I also have to cover the shipping and customer support from GRG. When I placed my order the email conformation said it would be around 8 days shipping. I received it in 4 days but my brother had picked it up on the way to work and didn’t tell me so when I went to the post office and they didn’t have it after I got a delivery confirmation I messaged GRG and they replied in minutes saying that they had a conformation too and if it wasn’t there the next day to tell them and they would take care of it. GRG was very professional and friendly with the reply and support. That being said you don’t want to pay for junk either but let me tell you this, This is a wicked scope for less than $100! Ive been shooting rifles and anything that goes bang for a long time now and I have found expensive is not always better. This rifle comes with scope shade, batterys, rings and the manual stuff. I took the scope out and found it is massive! Just what I wanted! I put the scope shade on and it made a 1000x difference in lighting conditions. I have this mounted on my savage axis .223 and figured this scope would be okay but not too great.. I was BAD WRONG! I hunt coyotes so you can expect shots to be all the way out to 600+ yards and this scope at 16x is still crystal clear! hard to find on a scope for less than $100. When I sighted this in you can do whats called ( locked zero) where you take off the elevation and windage cap and “set” the cap on the zero mark so you can easily snap back to your original zero after placing your shot. Now is this scope a vortex quality? No but its not ment to be, Its 1/10 th of the price! But is it a great scope? Absolutley ! I would highly advise getting this product |

(less than 100 rounds)I shot it a couple more times before PCSing to an SF unit and could not take my weapons with me and thus left it behind stored at my parents.Upon returning I zeroed it in and it no longer holds zero after one shot I have to rezero.I thought the scope was just loose but have since noticed a major shift on the horizontal line of the crosshair.The crosshairs are no longer perpendicular to each other.Pros:The glass is pretty good quality I can look out the window with it and clearly see the neighborhood children’s faces at 300 yards at 10x powerI can clearly read license plates and shirt logos at 16x power at 300-400 yards.The illuminated reticle really helps a good bit in low light conditions.The included sunshade really helps in heavy sun conditions.Cons:Barely shot it and treated it gengerly and the scope no longer holds zero and now has broken crosshairs.My scope did not come with any paperwork, I had to figure out information from asked questions on this page.Summation: It would be an ok scope if it didn’t break on me in the way that it did. The scope is about 4 years old now but over 95% of that time it was sitting on a shelf in a locked room. No dropping or falling and when going to the range the rifle and scope were in a padded case. It just fell apart. |
